Isla Grande 

Isla Grande is a small island on Panama’s Caribbean coast located 15km off the shores of Portobelo, in the Province of Colon and it’s a wonderful place to spend your vacations with your family and Friends. This island is very popular for different reasons. First, The Black Christ of Portobello is a life size statue of Jesus Christ carved from wood that sits in the waters off the coast of Portobelo. Many people go there to see the Black Christ and give thanks for the favors received.Second, surfing off Isla Grande is a good way to get out of stress and experience new things. There is a left-handed surf break near the rocks, and a center peak breaking left and another right-handed surf break to the right of the middle peak. The best way to access the break is by water taxi.Third, there are many hotels on Isla Grande that offers you oceanfront cabins and rooms and delicious meals. 

The menu features the island’s famous coconut-infused seafood alongside high-end cocktails. On the other hand, we can find in Isla Grande souvenir shops, marine equipment rental for fun. Also, among other activities such as: diving, hiking, ecotourism, snorkeling and others.

Finally, Isla Grande is accessible by boat from the town of Portobelo and is an excellent island to have a good time and know a beautiful place.
