Escudo island

For some, this one might be the nicest island of our country  undoubtedly Veraguas's Shield is a magic place for tourists. Ngäbe Buglé is inside the region and for the present it is prohibited to construct in her..

To come to Veraguas's Shield a light aircraft takes from Albrook's airport and comes near to Isla Colón; of here it leaves in boat. Depending on the conditions of the sea, the number of persons (weigh) and the size of the engine, from Isla Colón, capture of 2 to 5 hours to come to Veraguas's Shield. Be which is the time that takes, the wait costs a sorrow. We might say that the island has 4 "sections".

The first one is the part of the biggest beach that is where the small people is ngäbe. Here there is a group of houses that are lived certain months of the year, when the sea allows that the small crafts of the fishermen could come to the island. 

The second one is the part of the cliffs; the sea has done the sculptor's function, creating islands of capricious forms, with arches across which it is possible to sail. On the islands vegetation has been kept, giving the impression that these islands were small islands opposite to Shield, when actually they were forming a part of the principal island, even it does not do very much. 

The third section they are the tidelands (that actually it are not, but they look like rivers): the landscape is very impressive because it combines the beauty of crystalline waters and white sands that we see in places as San Blas, with the thickness of the jungle, which green one is reflected in the water, fusing with the blue of the sky, creating a combination and a contrast that is difficult to describe

The fourth part is that of the small beaches that seem to have be designed and constructed following instructions to create a paradise. In the latter part it is where the area is more suitable to arm a camp. The avistamiento of the thick jungle that ends abrupt in a beach full of palms and white sands does of this slightly mystical place.

In the island diverse animals live, but two are the most eminent: the lazy pigmy overdraft you upset some years ago, and the most picturesque inhabitants of Shield of Veraguas, the ranitas of scientific name Oophagapumilio. This one is the same frog that one finds in island Supply of victuals and that has given the name to the famous beach Red Frog, so visited by the tourists  

Few ones, very few Panamanians have visited this paradise. The best months to do it are an August, September and October, when the sea in calmness allows a better navigation and unloading in the island.
